Many useful plugins are already available at
http://pypi.python.org/pypi

I write a small script which could be used to fetch a list pf packages from
that location after installing Python (XY). This be a alternative to
downloading plugins for users connected to the net.

Maybe it could be included into the installer.

Not that it will be neccessary for users behind a corporate firewall to set
the http proxy.

Note that there are a lot of experimental packages on PyPI. In listing
packages from PyPI, make sure that the package's Development Status is clearly
displayed.
