This is a subtask of #45. The main class in wiki\plugins\macros\mdx\macro.py has some customizations that need to be separated into another file.

@lgessler It looks like our macro.py customizations are still in the mdx plugin directory rather than the metadata plugin. Did we decide not to separate them?
