Controller turns itself off while in game

I don't know why this happens but the controller suddenly shuts down while I'm in the game. Windows and other programs recognize it (Works on Leds), but the buttons don't. After 5-10 minutes after plugging and unplugging the usb, it turns off again (the device is fully charged), the lights are on, but I don't understand why it doesn't work.
