I'd like to propose the attached patch to bing. It allows users to set the size of ping bundles, and to set non-integer intervals (for attempting to send faster than 1/sec). It also includes the bping process pid in the bundles, which can help discriminate among multiple runs of bping.

This is a patch against the ion 3.5.0 version of bping -- that didn't seem to be an option in the 'milestone' drop-down.
