it would be informative if the emoji tracker were updated as new emoji characters are added to Unicode. the full, current set can be found at:

Does Twitter keep track of the totals or does Emojitracker? If the latter, the new emojis may never catch up?

🙄

I appreciate the enthusiasm from the community in seeing this project continue and expand.

This is not a simple "update" of dropping in new data -- there is unfortunately a large amount of fairly complex work that would go into making these updates and updating the various pieces of infrastructure to accommodate it.

I'm happy to help anyone interested in learning about all the various subprojects and technologies if they actually have the lasting interest to try to take some of this work on here.

(In addition, the Emojitracker.com infrastructure is still seeking donations to the point where it becomes cashflow-neutral at least, prior to anything that would be increasing load on it further: https://www.patreon.com/mroth )

honestly that just sounds like bad design to me (at the very least, lacking in foresight), but it's nothing to be ashamed of, and nothing to condescend about.

I looked on the repo before commenting here to inspect the code and was going to offer a PR if I could but I didn't find any code; perhaps you could open some more of the back end here or point to relevant links in the README?

+1 for this, because I found the current EmojiTracker cannot even track U+1F914, the thinking face... 🤔

http://emojitracker.com/details/1F914 says "Internal Server Error".
