This suggestion isn't so much just suggesting a tripod, but specifically how it could be done. My idea is to add an armor stand-like item/entity that could be placed on its own and then be right-clicked with a camera to set it up. Then it could be right-clicked again with an empty hand to start a timer, after which it will take a photo. The timer could be configured by adding a clock as an attachment. To get the camera back, one would simply shift-right-click the tripod. The other method of a stationary camera I would suggest (to be clear, I am proposing both of these to be added, not one or the other.) would be the camera block, a block entity which would have film and attachments inserted into it, and then would take a picture when a redstone signal was input into it. This could have use, for example, as a sort of security camera for a player's base. In this case the camera block would be aimed at a specific point and would be activated by tripwire or pressure plate to take a picture of an intruder. Another creative use could be for capturing photos of players in action such as cinematic shots of players riding horses, fighting a pvp duel, or riding a minecart rollercoaster similar to real-life rollercoaster action cameras.
