So I have hostapd up and running well on three different hosts that make 5 hostapd created APs, plus two other and 2 stock Engenius APs making a long distance bridge between two of the hosts. So far so good, most things stable, etc. However, clients are way too sticky to APs as they move around. Therefore, I am interested in implementing roaming assist, fast transition, preauth, etc to help clients switch APs more seamlessly. I have done a tiny bit of research towards this and see 802.11k, r, and v mentioned, and a plugin called DAWN for OpenWRT that helps disparate APs/hosts coordinate handoffs. I am not running OpenWRT though, just raw arch linux x86_64 and aarch64 hosts. Anyone know of good resources, scripts, examples, etc that would implement those on raw hostapd / hostapd_cli controlled instances? I am in the very early planning stages on this, and know I have a ton more research to do, so any pointers to good references, tutorials, etc on the subject would be great too. Thanks.
