Terms deprecation happens when:
A VBO term represents a concept that never existed (i.e. created by mistake). In this case, the term is obsoleted.
Their IDs is maintained with the annotation ‘owl:deprecated’: true.
The obsoletion reason is recorded using the OMO term 'domain entity does not exist' (OMO:0001002)
A link to the issue tracker discussing this obsoletion is recorded using 'term tracker item' (IAO:0000233) annotation
VBO term represents the same breed concept as another VBO term (i.e. concepts are duplicated). In this case, the terms are merged.
The IDs of the merged term, ie that is obsoleted, is maintained with the annotation ‘owl:deprecated’: true.
The obsoletion reason is recorded using the OMO term “term merged”,
The annotation “replaced by” indicate the VBO ID of the term into which it was merged
