Although the new firmware can be used with original Ikea Fyrtur wireless (Zigbee) module, most of its additional features can only be utilized with ESP8266/ESP32 based module using WiFi and MQTT connectivity

From the readme it is not clear which features require the custom pcb. Would you mind adding it to the readme and letting me know here? Thank you!

I'm at the very beginning of my journey and still waiting for some parts. Excited to get this tested out more!

The answer is that most setting are supported. However to change them one would have to edit the firmware, compile and flash it. So while not convenient most settings can be "hardcoded" to ones liking.
