Skipping gem bag animation, no gems accumulating

Hi all, got a party of Briv, Deekin, Widdle, Nahara, Sentry, Shandie, Minsc, Hew, Nordom and Melf on a speed core at level 8. Pretty quick. Problem is, while the levels are going by extremely fast - I'm not getting gems at all. If I turn off the farm, they accumulate normally. Farm on - 9/10 bosses aren't dropping gems, as the party shoots forward before the gem bag animation. I've reset to check if number reflects something not seen at front end - that's not happening. So how do I get it to slow down and do the gem bags?

What kind of reset have you done?

Due to a number of factors in how the game saves you are likely just not seeing the gems on the front end as you suspected.

Often you are getting gems and won't see it until the adventure is reset. e.g. If Briv jumps over a boss(es), it may be a number of jumps before a save is sent to the server and the gems are awarded.

Ending the adventure or having a modron reset it should send a save and update the gem count. Waiting for server response and animations from boss bag drops can be very time consuming which is why the script toggles auto-progress to skip it. The gems will still be awarded.
