Automated checks for upstream release or vcpkg port updates?

Working with @rustdesk requires setting private overlay ports that ideally should be in sync with both:

• Upstream release of affected libraries (especially security fix releases!)
• Ports in vcpkg official port tree

How is it best to notify about new upstream releases or vcpkg port updates? In Debian, we have uscan to check if upatream release was tagged / made available as a tarball.

Is there any plan to add such mechanisms to vcpkg?
