Build failure for custom port

I have a custom port to build net-snmp, and it creates a weird folders when vcpkg_install_make is run:
From the dbg out log:

creating directory /home/jonb/Projects/Suite_test_netsnmp/components/vcpkg/packages/net-snmp_x64-linux/home/jonb/Projects/Suite_test_netsnmp/vcpkg_installed/x64-linux/debug/../include/net-snmp

Its like the current directory is concatenated to the current directory.

The portfile is roughly like so:

Any suggestions on how to fix this?
