✔️ Expected Behavior

The accent overlay disappearing after use

❌ Actual Behavior

The accent overlay is stuck on the top of the screen and the only way to close it is by shutting down the application.

This happens to me as well. It's more common when I am connected by remote-desktop to the machine (the remote machine has PowerToys installed). Here is a screenshot of such an occurrence a few minutes ago:

Note that it's impossible to close this. Pressing space doesn't cycle it, and it cannot be clicked.

At the very least, the Quick Accent popup should respond to mouse clicks and close itself after it's clicked a few times.

I've had this happen when typing rapidly. I've had success with closing the pop-up by writing another accent afterwards, taking care to hold the keys long enough.

My guess is that it keys are released at the exact moment the pop-up appears, so it doesn't register the input and keeps the pop-up open.

I've had this issue since ages.
Typing another accent is definitely the quickest way to close it.
Annoying nonetheless

I don't think this is a duplicate of #32047 but is probably related.

I think what may be happening is because of #32047 and the accidental opening of it, if the trigger key is let go before the UI appears, then I believe that it's just getting in the state of waiting for input or something?

Basically, a timing issue between when it's been triggered to appear and its normal expected behavior/usage maybe?

Definitely hard to reproduce in an intentional manner. I've only seen it getting stuck/hung for a couple of seconds when I've been accidentally triggering it due to #32047...

This happens to me regularly after reboot, when pressing the first QuickAccent key combo.
I have to repeat the key combo to make it disappear.
After that, it works correctly.
