Does this work in WS 2017?

It appears to add settings in the settings menu but I can't find anyway to actually get the plugin to generate a file.

You have to select from top menu "Code > Generate or navigate to spec file". This is the last option in the "Code" menu. It is convenient to set up a shortcut for this option (Settings > Keymap).
