Hi, sorry if i disturb you, will this still work on Windows Server 2016-2019-2022? I need to migrate some GPO's from one domain to another one but they aren't on the same network or somehow linked to each other, and i found this repo and i'm curious if would it work or not, i don't know any PowerShell and i can just try and run them as they are and follow the README guide as is, but is mentioned this was last tested on Windows Server 2012 R2.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I was doing manual work and did 80ish and my eyes hurt because of Group Policy Management Console interface being white, do you by change have a video how to make this work or some noob friendly tutorial somewhere? I was trying with what's in README but so far dosen't seem to work, i'm continuing anyway with the trying because is better than manual work if it's working, thank you for your response :)

Actually it works "as-is" for me. I make some tuning for each domain as it's explained in the documentation.
Try to describe your problem more detailed.

Hi, sorry for late response, i started the GPO Export script, and it took some hours but itonly got to 60 GPOs backed up, i want to try today to use the Backup folder i've made with Group Policy Management Console when i backed up from righ clicking the Group Policy Objects folder and i did "Back up All" from there.
My question is, can i use that folder? the Export script does something to the files to be imported by the import script? or i can use the export script or the GPMC export?

Something wrong with your environment. There's nothing in the tool to work soooo slow. Use simple environment. Try to run it at a DC and use a local folder to save.

I've just realized that I've never tried to work this way. Exported with the tool files I always imported with the tool.

So, i've started the import script and put the path to the GPO backup folder i've made with GPMC on the Group Policy Objects (see photo)

and the output for the script is kinda interesting:

For some reason it tried to find the GPO's i've trying to import and delete them (i'm assuming because it wanted to create a new one and if it would exist already would be not good).

The "[AGPM] DC-KerberosSignature-Reg-Fix" GPO was not found in the secondary.local domain.
Parameter name: gpoDisplayName
From domain secondary.local removing GPO: [AGPM] APAC-AU-User-User SOE Policy-Policy Test-v2

In the end it seems to work, it imports the GPO's one by one, and it's fine, it imports the Settings for each GPO, so it seems fine.
I will come back with any updates if there are issues, just to let every noob like me know, not for you to fix if you don't want or need to.

As I remember the tool has to give more information during its work. Can you run it directly on you DC?

No, unfortunately I can't

I exported them all with GPCM and imported them onto the new Domain with the script, it didn't make any links, didn't link any WIM's, but it imported the GPOs and settings into the domain, I will do the rest manually, at least I'm not doing it manually from 0.
