\section*{Instructions}
\textbf{Important}: This section should be removed prior to submission.
You should use this \LaTeX\ template to generate your team project report. Keep in mind the following key points:
\begin{itemize}
\item \textbf{Selecting a major}: Each team member must select one of the computing degree majors (a different one for each student) - i.e. Computer Science; Data Science; Software Development; Cyber Security. If there are more than four members in your team then your tutor will suggest a fifth alternative. The choice for each student should be included in the table on the cover page.
\item \textbf{Teamwork}: Whilst the team project is just that -- a team project -- it has been designed to also allow different members of the team to achieve different outcomes. We do expect you to work together as a team -- i.e. your team can only submit a single report. There will be some sections that need to be worked on as a team, and some sections that are done individually. This means that your team will need to collaborate to combine your individual components for each submission. This collaborative aspect is a requirement for both the foundation and advanced tasks (since the two tasks are submitted using this one template). The only exception to this is where a member of the team has already achieved the level they are targeting (e.g. OK for the Foundation task) in a previous submission and has decided to not attempt higher levels, and so is not contributing anything further (this should be obvious because no target is indicated for that student on the cover page).
\item \textbf{Team problems}: If you do come across problems working together then the first step should be to discuss this with your tutor. You should do this as soon as possible, and not wait until it is too late for your tutor to address any problems.
\item \textbf{Choosing Levels}: Whilst the report is compiled as a team, for each submission each team member can individually attempt the foundation task, advanced task or neither, (though you need to achieve a ''STRONG'' on the foundation task before being eligible to attempt the advanced task). Each team member will then be individually assessed for the levels they have attempted.\\
For example, in the first submission, one team member attempted only the foundation task and the other three all attempted both the foundation task and the advanced task. For the one who attempted only the foundation task, they were not successful in achieving an ''OK'' (a pass) or a ''STRONG'' (opportunity to proceed to advanced task). In the second submission, they then reattempted the foundation task (successful – ''STRONG''). For the third and final submission they could attempt the advanced task, or even just choose to not submit anything further and remain at the foundation ''STRONG'' rating.
\item \textbf{Minimum requirement}: Remember that in order to pass the unit, you must achieve at least foundation – ''OK'' rating by the end of the third submission.
\item \textbf{Assessment}: In order to attempt the advanced – ''OK'' or ''STRONG'' you must first have achieved foundation – ''STRONG''. This means that we will not assess any attempts made on the advanced task until the ''STRONG'' rating has been achieved on the foundation task.
\item \textbf{Using this template}: When completing each section, you should remove the explanation text and replace it with your material. For each submission, each individual must complete their subsections and then collectively compile and submit the report.
\item \textbf{Referencing}: You should also ensure that any resources you use are suitably referenced, and references are included into the reference list at the end of this document. You should use the IEEE reference style \cite{usyd2} (the reference included here shows you how this can be easily achieved).

\section{Task 1 (Foundation): Core Skills}
Throughout your Computing degree we will help you learn a range of new skills. Once you graduate however you will need to continue to learn new languages, new tools, new applications, etc. Task 1 focuses on core technical skills (related to \LaTeX\ and Git) and the key technical skills used in different computing jobs. Each member of the team should individually complete their subsection below. You should begin by allocating to each team member a different major to focus on (i.e. one of: Computer Science; Data Science; Software Development; Cyber Security). If you have a fifth member, then your tutor will suggest a fifth topic to cover. This allocation should be specified above (see lines 37-56 in the LaTeX file).
For this section each member of your team needs to select one of the majors provided and identify 3 key technical skills that you would need to be able to work in the industry of your allocated major. You should then put these in order from most required to least required, and for each one explain why it is a key skill required for the industry of your major. You must use the skills framework for the information age ''SFIA'' to identify at least 2 out of the 3 key tech skills. (Target = $\sim$100 words per skill = $\sim$300 words total, per student).
Begin by looking at the list of skills identified within SFIA (Skills Framework for the Information Age) ~\cite{sfia}. Then select two skills from the complete list. The skills you select should be skills you believe are the most required key technical skills relevant to the major you have selected. You should explain why each skill is a key technical skill and necessary for that major.
You will need to integrate your information into the shared collaborative LaTeX document and compile the result.\\[2mm]
\textbf{OVERALL REQUIREMENTS:}
To achieve an ''OK'' rating for this task you must individually accomplish the following:

\subsection{Skills for \majA: \studA}
\subsubsection*{Requirements definition and management}
The 2012 McKinsey-Oxford study found that half of all large IT projects massively exceed their budgets, with 17\% having budget overruns more than 200\% – the biggest issues identified being unclear objectives and missing focus. For this reason, defining what is required of a new system is an important skill within all branches of computer science. By using the requirements life cycle approach to ensure that achievable objectives are set and monitored throughout development, the final outcome can be more clearly understood, thus reducing the risk of software projects failing to meet their requirements.
\subsubsection*{Programming/software development}
Programming is a fundamental skill within computer science. It allows professionals to solve problems and develop software components that appeal to stakeholders. A computer scientist should be familiar with implementing development methods, which may include responsibilities such as planning, testing, documentation, security, software recovery, resolving bugs, and using peer review techniques (such as pair programming). Some programming languages that are commonly used by computer scientists include Java, C, Python, and Javascript, amongst many others. As the industry is ever-changing, it is also an important skill to be able to self-learn other programming languages when the need arises.

\subsection{Skills for \majB: \studB}
\subsubsection*{Data Visualisation}
With the creation of technology that can clean and sort through enormous amounts of data, the role of a Data Scientist is becoming increasingly centred around their ability to visualise this data [4] and present it to others [1]. With this skill, Scientists are better able to identify, understand and analyse trends in data – particularly crucial with the complex, multi-variable sets of modern society. Furthermore, data visualisation extends to presenting data and any findings to boards, teams and colleagues. It is important that the communication is clear and easily understandable, something that is aided by visual tools such as graphs, charts and infographics – key tools of data visualisation.
\subsubsection*{Personal Data Protection}
In recent years, technology has been introduced into every aspect of modern society, meaning every individual’s movement, decisions, action etc. are being stored in thousands of megabytes of data [2], posing significant security issues. As a result, personal data protection [4] is an important skill for a Data Scientist to have, as, if individuals do not believe that their data will be secure, they will refuse to answer surveys or questionaries, reducing the quantity of data available. Furthermore, without personal data protection, there is potential for the data sets to be corrupted or modified, reducing the reliability and validity of the data collected, rendering the results unusable.
\subsubsection*{Strategic Planning}
A key role of data scientists within the wider organisation is to advise business decisions based on data collection and analysis. As such, strategic planning [4] is a crucial skill for any data scientist to have, to make data-driven decisions. By constructing forecast models, data scientists can predict future business outcomes given a set of exogenous conditions and adapt a strategic plan to best achieve the organisation’s aims [3]. Furthermore, data scientists need strong strategic planning skills so that they can identify which data to collect and how to collect it in order to address a certain issue, without getting bogged down in unnecessary information.

\subsection{Skills for \majC: \studC}
\subsubsection*{Programming and Software Development}
As a software engineer, SFIA requires this skill as a ‘core competency,’ requiring familiarity with the logistical and technical intricacies of developing software. They must be familiar with multiple programming languages, using respective standards and tools to develop advanced software. They must be able to refine and code across all stages of software development, this includes the ability to identify and rectify certain inadequacies of a program, such as fixing bugs (via TEST). Logistically, they estimate difficulty and temporal restrictions of developing software to ensure a steady scope for development. As a software engineer, the importance of PROG is paramount, ensuring the software is thoroughly engineered, running at required specifications.
\subsubsection*{Testing}
SFIA also requires this skill as a ‘core competency,’ requiring software engineers to scrutinize the software by conducting tests to assess their behavior and ensure that the software is meeting these required specifications in the real world. They must design tests that adhere to industry standards to assess functional aspects, which refers to ensuring that the requested features are executed seamlessly in real-time field tests, and non-functional elements, such as, “performance, security… robustness, availability.” (SFIA) Software engineers are then required to compile and report data from these tests to accentuate certain inadequacies of the programme that need to be fixed or further developed to satisfy stakeholder specifications for the software.
\subsubsection*{Systems and Software Life Cycle Engineering}
It is a requirement by SFIA that a software engineer is able to effectively manage the life-cycle of a program. This is done through creating an “environment” (SFIA) that continually builds upon the initially developed software (PROG). Through the “process of trial, feedback, learning and continual evolution,” (SFIA) they exemplify inadequacies of a program and ensure they are fixed so it runs at specification. Additionally, they are required to evolve the system to ensure it remains up to date with current operating systems and ever changing industry standards of the programs respective operating environment. Holistically, through “developing a supportive framework of [these] methods,” the program can be managed successfully during its lifecycle

\subsubsection*{Information Security}
Information Security is foundational in the cyber security industry because it encompasses the policies, strategies, and practices designed to protect digital and non-digital information from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, or destruction. As cyber threats become more sophisticated and pervasive, the ability to develop robust security frameworks that safeguard data integrity, confidentiality, and availability becomes critical. Professionals with expertise in information security are essential for identifying vulnerabilities, implementing protective measures, and ensuring organizational resilience against cyber-attacks, thereby maintaining trust and compliance in a digital world.
\subsubsection*{Security Operations}
Security Operations play a pivotal role in the cyber security industry by providing the ongoing management and technical support necessary to enforce security policies and strategies in real-time. This skill is key because it involves the continuous monitoring of network and system activities to detect, analyze, and respond to incidents that could potentially harm an organization's information assets. In an era where cyber threats are constantly evolving, the ability to swiftly identify and mitigate risks through effective security operations is crucial for minimizing potential damage and maintaining operational continuity.
\subsubsection*{Vulnerability Assessment}
Vulnerability Assessment is a critical skill in cyber security due to the constant emergence of new vulnerabilities and the evolving nature of cyber threats. Professionals skilled in vulnerability assessment proactively identify, classify, and prioritize vulnerabilities in software and networks. This process is essential for preemptively addressing weaknesses before they can be exploited by attackers, thereby reducing the attack surface. Effective vulnerability assessment forms the basis for a proactive security posture, enabling organizations to adapt their defenses in alignment with the dynamic cyber threat landscape, and safeguard sensitive data and systems.

\section{Task 2 (Advanced): Advanced Skills}
Task 2 contains two components (both required).\\[2mm]
\textbf{Component 1: Exploration of Tech Tools}
The first component focuses on exploration of relevant tech tools used within professional computing employment. All companies make use of a range of technologies and tools (often as part of a tech stack). These tools might be implementation languages; design tools; data analysis tools; collaboration technologies, etc. Each student should identify two tools that are widely used in industry, and which relate to the major you are focusing on for this project. You should then describe:
\begin{enumerate}
\item What are the two tools you have identified for your chosen major
\item The main functionality of those tools;
\item The ways in which those tools are used in the industry of your chosen major;
\item Any weaknesses or limitations of those tools.

This task consists of two parts:

\item \textbf{Part A}: Generate a set of questions that you can put to ChatGPT in order to obtain answers to each of the above four questions. Using ChatGPT, then generate the answers for each of the two tools. You must include in the report below both the questions that you posed to ChatGPT, and the answers that it provided. (100–250 words each).
\item \textbf{Part B}: For each of the four answers from Part A, assess the answer that ChatGPT provided and explain to us why you agree or disagree with the answer (100 words for each question above).

The second component of Task 2 focuses on more advanced technical skills in LaTeX and Git. The following is a list of advanced Git and LaTeX skills/features. Each student in your team that is attempting the Advanced task should select a different pair of items from each list (e.g. you might choose ''Resetting and Tags'' from the git list, and ''Cross-referencing and Custom commands'' from the LaTeX list). You then need to demonstrate actual use of each item (either through activity in Git, or through including items in this report). (Target = $\sim$100-200 words per student for each feature).
