Today we’ll pre-release 0.12.0-rc1, only on PyPi

Future, 0.13 and beyond

• PyPi publishing CI workflow
• Python 3.10 in CI tests
• Drop Python 3.7 (numpy drops support later this year)
• New features from projects?
• Lean towards the Pandas API for further develop the pya API
  • Maybe Pandas/xarray plugins?
• Cook book/Gallery of python snippets using the pya API
• Support external/raw data formats
  • Intake (from conda) or S-ENDA (developed here at met.no)
  • Plugins architecture for new gridded/ungridded data
• Example configs for AeroVal workloads
• Will pya continue to be a library for external users?
• Advertising pya on Uni

Let’s talk architecture. What is the current design? How to extend the API for moving observation platforms? How should the API handle vertical co-location?
