Calibrators adjusts fields on their final grid.

Many calibrators require a parameter file. For example a simple linear regression scheme would require a file that specifies a and b coefficients for a “y = a + bx” regression. The parameter file can either be location independent, which means that one set of coefficients are used for the entire grid, or location dependent, which means several sets that each have a location attached to them are used. When calibrating a gridpoint, the set of coefficients that are located closest to the gridpoint is used. In many applications it is natural that the parameter file has the same set of locations as the output grid.

Calibrators typically require a parameter file.
