These were originally questions for Anibal that have not been answered.

According to the guidelines:

  1. Logo color for the “Technical publications” template.

On page 8, it says the ITU logo is in “Black”. However, on pages 9-10 all the samples have a “Blue” logo. Which one is correct?

  1. Fonts used.

Page 12 says for “Main title and subtitle fonts”, "“Avenir Next” main ITU font for Latin and Cyrillic scripts. “Janna” for Arabic and “M Ying Hei” for Chinese."

Then, for “Slogan”, "Adelle italic for latin and cyrillic scripts, Traditional arabic for Arabic and STKaiti for Chinese.”

These selected fonts are commercial fonts that only come on certain platforms or with certain software (MS Office):

  • Avenir Next and Adelle italic are only available for free on macOS
  • Traditional Arabic only comes free on Windows
  • STKaiti only comes free with MS Office
  • Janna and M Ying Hei are only available for commercial purchase

Does ITU have licenses for these fonts to be used in Recommendations?

  1. Table of Contents font.

In the Guidelines document, the font used is "Adelle CYR” which is also available only on macOS. It was not described in the document whether the TOC is supposed to use a particular font. Is this the designated font for the TOC?

  1. In new Recommendations, the font “Arial” is used instead of the stated “Avenir Next” etc:

Does this mean that the fonts in the Guidelines do not need to be followed?
