OC_User::login() doesnt exist anymore and OC_User::getUserSession()->login() doesn't work

nextcloud 11 is out since few month. is this project dead?

This project isn't dead, but we aren't upgrading to nextcloud 11 on our platform while plugin Documents doesn't work on this version and Collabora isn't suitable for production env.
But we are totally open to PR to add more supported versions of nextcloud
