Used to be able to turn LGTV on when last using plugin. No longer works following reinstallation. Only 'off' works. #521

I used this plugin for basic turning on and off of my LG 55UB850V-ZD (running 1.4.0-2341 afro-ashley) without issue for many many months. Following a system crash and an inadvertent deleting of my backup, I've reset Homebridge up with this plugin. Try as I might, I cannot get it to function as it previously did. I can only get the plugin to turn off the TV. The tile in HomeKit shows as 'on' but it isn't reflected on the TV itself.

I have followed all setup instructions without success. If my tv was capable of working with the plugin before I'm presuming it should be able to again. Do you have any suggestions as to what might be going on here?

That sounds to me strongly like a network issue. The tv turn on happens with a magic packet sent through the network, either the magic packet does not reach your tv or you have some power saving features enabled on your tv (the tv then does now listen for the magic packet), so I would recommend you to investigate in that direction.

Thanks for the response. Having double-checked the power-saving mode on my TV (under settings/picture/energy-saving) I confirmed that that is already set to ‘off’. Unless there is some other power-saving setting somewhere then it is not that.

I’m using a Fritzbox Hub. Whilst I’m not asking you specifically how to solve this (unless you know!), could you perhaps offer any suggestions as to where to begin looking on my network?

Basically any tool which can send a magic packet can turn on your tv so you could use one of those to check it the magic does reach your tv. I unfortunately do not have any knowledge about the fritzbox hub so I cannot give you any suggestion where to look there.
