In your demo, the search result order doesn't make sense.
For example, when you type wyo, you don't even get Wyoming in the list. When you type wyom, you get Wyoming in the list, but it's not on top of the list. Finally, when you type wyomi, you get Wyoming at the top of the list.
The weirdest part is that the other results that show up besides Wyoming don't even have the term wyo in them.

This has nothing to do with the Javascript plugin. It's due to how the search is done server-side in PHP using levenshtein distances, which is extremely rudimentary.
