If the jars for your baseline (oldClasspath) is published to a repository, I think a japicmpBaseline configuration and a dependency definition will download the artifact that can be referenced as a file and passed to oldClasspath.

Also maybe oldClasspath being able to accept dependency coordinates and http urls can be useful.
