Unable to re-download for iOS 13 #90
Comments
If you do not want to upgrade your OS, you won´t be able to download any new app releases. But you can still keep using and re-download the last compatible app release. For iOS, you can download the last compatible version from App Store. If you encounter any issue in the progress, please contact [email protected] from your MEGA account email address. |
Please update your iOS support information. Downloading an older version
from the appstore is painful and hard.
Here is the process for iOS 13.
1. Go to the app store.
2. To the far right of "Today" is an icon for you -- your picture, or a
default person. Tap that.
3. Tap "Purchased". -- NB: You must have already downloaded, or attempted
to download, the program in question. You cannot get an older version of a
program that you did not have in the past. Blame Apple.
4. Tap "Not on this phone"
5. Enter what you are looking for in search.
6. ** CAREFUL **
- When you find what you are looking for, you want that tiny cloud+down
arrow icon on the bottom left.
- If you tap the main area of the listing, you will go to the store page
for that listing. ** You cannot get the file from there **.
- ** If you do not see a cloud + down arrow -- if you see a circle -- you
need to reboot your iphone. Power off, and power back on. Settings ->
General -> power off (bottom of the list). * Blame Apple.
- If you tap on the cloud+down, **Only then** will you see the option to
download an older version that works on your phone.
This is painful. This is as inconvenient as possible, probably to encourage
people to upgrade.

General Information
MEGA Version: Was latest for iOS 13
iOS Version(s): 13.7
Devices/Simulators: iphone 11
Reproducible? (Yes/No): yes
What happened?
Apple's OS decided to uninstall apps to make room.
I attempted to reinstall from the app store.
I was told I had to upgrade the OS, now iOS 14 was a requirement.
What did you expect to happen?
I expected to re-install the version that works with iOS 13.
I did not expect to get a newer version, just the same version I had before.
Additional info: As far as I can tell, I can only get an app on my iphone by downloading from the app store. There does not seem (as far as I can tell) any other way to get an app on my iphone.
