Yes looks like it's the same issue. I'm on libusb 1.0.24 as well.
Yep, there's unfortunately nothing I can do about this. It's a known bug and will hopefully be fixed in the next version of libusb.

xow is using almost 2 cores of my Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8259U.
This is with an Xbox Series S controller with share button.
