No Detections For Today #731

Hello,

I reinstalled my Birdnet-Pi yesterday evening, using the new model and it is working fine. However, on the main page it says "No Detections For Today", which is weird as I have a lot of detections for today:

What could be wrong?

Sometimes that happens if the database is busy, but if it's persisting even after a few hours then that's probably not the case.

Post a screenshot or copy/paste your "View Logs"
Run this command: sed -i -e 's/E_ERROR/E_ALL/g' ~/BirdNET-Pi/scripts/overview.php, then refresh your BirdNET-Pi web page, you should now see a lot more debugging information. Please send a screenshot of this

You can also try upping the recording length to 60 sec

I overclocked with those settings:

arm_freq=1350
gpu_freq=500
sdram_freq=500
over_voltage=4
disable_splash=1
gpu_mem=16
force_turbo=1
boot_delay=1

Now I have to wait for tomorrow morning to see the results and eventually follow your suggestion to "try upping the recording length to 60 sec".

Unfortunately no. I overclocked a little bit and changed the recording length to 60 but it didn't solve my issues.

Though , for my issue regarding today's detections (no spectrograms, unplayable audio files) instead of being 5 hours behind it was only 2 hours behind.

So I decided to give up and ordered yesterday a Lepotato I should receive by March 10, here in France.

Restart of services has no impact, same result - no detections. I even played a bird song from my phone into the mic, still didn't hear anything

What does your View Log show? If you go to Spectrogram what do you hear?

I adjusted the mic through ALSA and now I'm back in business. Odd though, it was working great un until yesterday afternoon.

With the adjustment I am now hearing a constant humming when listening to the Spectrogram

I had this issue (or something like it) … and It was actually the sound card.

Try opening a ssh and run journalctl -f. This will report what is being processed at the time. You need to look for any errors - particularly errors with the recording or analysing the recording files.

The ‘view logs’ dont show this (at least - mine dont).

I had swapped the sound card - but had not updated the audio settings in the advanced settings - after correcting that (and stopping / starting the services) it started working again.

I ran the command and didn't see any errors. I did swap out the USB sound card for the internal sound card on my Le Potato and the humming went away, also swapped out the mic for a 'better' one.

I've starter getting this error since midnight on the 17th, it's still recording as the memory is filling up :

Wait it's woriking again after the update, tad strange as yesterday it wasn't. Anyhow seems to be sorted. Nothing is appearing in the weblog though. Only on the journalctl
