I am trying to pull the mitochondria genome from the PacBio raw reads using MitoHiFi. I did not find any mito genome from closely related species, but I do have a fasta file of the mitogenome of the other species from the same genus from a collaborator.
Would it be possible to proceed without the genbank file? My primary goal is to get the mitogenome sequence. I can conduct annotation later on. Would you mind giving me some suggestions?
Thanks a lot
