Customizing or hiding road style is not possible

I'm not sure which repo this should go to, but we discovered in the global OpenStreetMap community, that Mapbox's road style, imported from OpenStreetMap's highway=road, can't be overridden or hidden in Mapbox.

Expected Behavior

The road style should either have a distinct appearance compared to other roads or be hidden by renderers.

Actual Behavior

The road style cannot be overridden or hidden and appears the same as other minor roads.
