Support for different distribution like alpine linux

As of now the code is tied to ubuntu distribution. We need to modify to support other distributions like alpine, fedora etc.

Describe the solution you'd like
Need to explore for idea of creating a common steps for all distribution with less manual steps as well.
One worst case possibility is to build and manage distribution as per our need.

Additional context
Mac virtualization only support uncompressed kernel and raw disk images
