For a long time, no one has mentioned this issue, so I thought it was a personal environment problem, but it seems not to be.
My computer environment is windows 11 64bit.

The problem is as follows

  • After installing the downloaded retroarch, run it for the first time (without changing any settings) and run an arcade game (e.g. metal slug 1) using the latest mame core. After that, turn on the frame run-ahead function in the retroarch game options. There is no problem playing.

  • After that, after exiting retroarch and running the 2nd (or nth) time, if you run the game with frame run-ahead activated in advance, after entering coins and pressing start, if you enter any key (a or b), the game's intro screen will not be skipped.

  • Games I tested: galaxian, metal slug 1,2,3, mr driller 1,2,G

The same problem occurred from mame core 0.256,

and I continue to play the game with 0.255 core
It seems that there is a problem with saving the game state.

Did other people have no problems when using the latest mame core and frame run-ahead function together?
