mac: Crash when Video renderer is set the Hardware (Vulkan) #878

Description

When Renderer is set to Hardware (Metal) RetroArch crashes. This doesn't happen with other cores.

Expected behavior

Just run, or maybe give an error.

Actual behavior

Crash

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. Set Renderer to Hardware (Vulkan)
  2. Run any game
  3. Crash happens

Version/Commit

Core options

Everything is default except the Renderer for the core.

Environment information

  • Frontend: RetroArch 1.15.0
  • OS: macOS 13.2.1
  • GPU: M1 MacBook Air (2020)

Attached is the crash log which macOS outputs

not sure, when I start it, it states it uses a fallback to software renderer
After that it randomly crashes at some point.

To be clear, when you say the video renderer is set to hardware, you mean you're using the Metal video driver when this crashes?
