Having the ability to use VScode in the jupyter-hub is quite nice. Maybe we (or 2i2c) could enable it?

Yuvi actually figured this out! I havent tried this yet, but maybe we can schedule a spot to work on this?

Dhruv is working through this. I think what we currently looking at is:

  • Test this with a custom image (Working on a guide for that in Add custom docker image guide leap-stc.github.io#173)
  • Add required dependencies into the upstream pangeo notebook
  • Write docs on how to set this up for the user (VScode specifically but maybe there are other usecases too).
