About this page

This page attempts to capture proposals and plans for transitioning all of the "Untested Dojo and HTML" widgets on the widget palette into fully supported widgets, thereby eliminating the Untested section.

Legend

  • DOJOCONTAINER - Widget should go into "Dojo Containers" section of widget palette

Explanations for Widgets currently not in untested section

These descriptions are taken from http://dojotoolkit.org/api/1.6/

MappedTextBox

The visible display may be locale-dependent and interactive. The value sent to the server is stored in a hidden input field which uses the name attribute declared by the original widget. That value sent to the server is defined by the dijit.form.MappedTextBox.serialize method and is typically locale-neutral.

RangeBoundTextBox

Base class for textbox form widgets which defines a range of valid values.

SplitContainer

A Container widget with sizing handles in-between each child. Contains multiple children widgets, all of which are displayed side by side (either horizontally or vertically); there's a bar between each of the children, and you can adjust the relative size of each child by dragging the bars. You must specify a size (width and height) for the SplitContainer.

FeedViewer

An ATOM feed viewer that allows for viewing a feed, deleting entries, and editing entries.

FeedEntryViewer

An ATOM feed entry editor for publishing updated ATOM entries, or viewing non-editable entries.

FeedEntryEditor

An ATOM feed entry editor that allows viewing of the individual attributes of an entry.

FLAudio

This class is brand new, so there is a lot of functionality not yet available. The initial purpose is for playing "event" sounds like button clicks, and for loading and controlling multiple sounds at once. As of yet, streaming is not supported and polling the sounds for events during playback may still be missing information. Markup is not supported, as it may not be needed.

FLVideo

Inserts a Flash FLV video into the HTML page and provides methods and events for controlling the video. Also plays the H264/M4V codec with a little trickery: change the '.M4V' extension to '.flv'.

GraphPro

The dialog widget for a graphing, scientific calculator

Legend

A legend for a chart. A legend contains summary labels for each series of data contained in the chart.

SelectableLegend

An enhanced chart legend supporting interactive events on data series

DropDownStack

(And RadioStack) A widget that can toggle parts of a form as "on" or "off" - to allow for different options based on the value selected.

FilePickerTextBox

A validating text box that can browser server-side files using a dojox.data.FileStore

ListInput

A text-box widget that allows inputting multiple items

PasswordValidator

A password validation widget that simplifies the "old/new/verify" style of requesting passwords.

ExpandoPane

Intended only as a child of BorderContainer, provides an experimental layout region (top/left/right/bottom) that collapses when toggled, hiding the layout children contained within.

GridContainerLite

GridContainerLite displays the child elements by column (ie: the children widths are fixed by the column width of the grid but the children heights are free). Each child is movable by drag and drop inside the GridContainer. The position of other children is automatically calculated when a child is moved.

RadioContainer

Similar to a RadioGroup but provides advanced button's and control

TableContainer

A container widget that lays out child widgets using a Table element. It can create labels for each widget, placed either above or beside the widgets.

Roller

A component to show many lines of text in a single area, rotating through the options available. Also provides RollerSlide, an extension to the stock fading roller to add a slide animation to the transition.

TitleGroup

A container which controls a series of dijit.TitlePanes, allowing one to be visible and hiding siblings. Behaves similarly to a dijit.layout.AccordionContainer in that the children are all stacked, though merges the TitlePane behavior of variable height

Standby

A "blocker" style widget to overlay a translucent div + image over a DOM node/widget to indicate busy. Overlay color, image, and alt text can all be customized.
