Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

  1. Real-time controls such as PB and mod wheel are the key elements of an expressive performance. I tried both the plugin and standalone versions of Element and discovered that none of these MIDI messages reach the VSTi's, although the note on/note off messages do. I've tried Kontakt 7 and Musio hosted by Element, along with the same plugins as instrument tracks in the DAW (Vienna Ensemble Pro). The MIDI activity indicator in the DAW shows the incoming MIDI messages, but the VSTi's inside Element do not respond to them, while those hosted directly by the DAW work as expected.
  2. Another thing that could use some improvement is disabling unnecessary ports. When a multi-out VSTi has dozens of ports available, the node takes up much of real estate in the app window and clutters the layout. As of now, user must check/uncheck ports one at a time. Given the sheer amount of ports, this can be very time consuming.

Describe the solution you'd like

  1. I personally think that Pitch bend, Mod wheel, Aftertouch and other MIDI controllers should be supported straight out of the box, with the option to turn them off in Preferences or by using a MIDI filter feature, if need be. Their absence is an absolute deal breaker for me.
  2. The ability to make multiple selections (for example, by using a key command like Shift-Click) would be a huge time-saver when you need to enable or disable several ports for a specific VST.
