I'm trying our Element to see if it can replace Carla in my workflow.

In Carla I can see all the ins and outs from Ardour and connect them to my plugins, but I don't see the same in Element. Is there a way to display them?

Is this with Jack Audio? Eventually I'd like to have something like this in Element, but currently doesn't work the exact same way. With element as it stands, you have to add a MIDI device (or enable it in preferences). They won't just show up in the graph on their own. Although I do want to support that; show Jack clients/ports directly and effortlessly.

Yes, I'm using pipewire which emulates JACK

Just getting back to this. I've only tried the 0.46.6 version, is this available in that version? I don't mind paying for a newer version but want to check first that it can do what I need.

I want to route MIDI from qtractor and ardour into VST3 plugins hosted by element.

The JACK support in Element is basic in both versions of Element as of now.

I just played around with it some more and actually it seems that it will do exactly what I need, routing MIDI from qtractor to my instruments. So you will be getting a new subscriber :)

Hey cool. I really appreciate the support. Full-blown JACK support needs to happen at some point. Right now I'm using the built-in juce one and it only lets you pick one source (app or device) for IO. What really needs to happen is a new Node type that exposes specific jack clients and custom channel setups.... one of these days :)

Oh yeah, actually I'm only seeing qtractor ports and not those from Ardour which is strange, but not a big deal because I mainly want it for use with qtractor.

What do you use to create your Linux installer?
