Hi I am new to this community so feel free to let me know if this question is legit or not.

It seems 2.0 is a complete rewrite of this project. A lot has changed in v2.0.0-rc.0
Though there is some description in the related PRs and issues, I am still curious if there is more details available from user point of view, explaining new architecture (assuming it is different from the existing one).

It would be better if there is extra context like the train of thoughts behind this solution, trade off among different considered approaches, how mature this 2.0 is, any open benchmark numbers / metrics, migration guide, etc.

These will be very helpful for users to take the leap of faith to adopt 2.0.
