We felt honoured that we made quick implementation of RMRK.app even during that time, supported by Kusama Treasury funding. RMRK has changed ground a few times, specs &c and moving standard and a lot of issues evolved, incurring double spend.
Even we are proud we contributed with EMOTE functionality
We made it from start as browser only so all parties we're aware of that from start.
Waterloo
But since we felt that Bruno put KodaDot as a third party and we did not play his game, we realized that RMRK is not net neutral for contributors and it left us suffering some reputation damage.
I mean in a team of two and rolling sales and a lot of features we could not keep pace to fix our issues or deploy servers as it was not in our abilities.
Meanwhile, we've fixed stuff, but we probably don't feel hijacked inside Bruno's cave and commander.
Waiting for decision
We've expected that Kusama will have orml-nft pretty soon so we can avoid missing chainlogic and have orml-nft. Turns out we've been hanging for quite a long and now it's time for us, to be in control of our destiny.
Thus we came up with the idea to spin up our art platform -- Metaprime.network
We've framed it as an experimental NFT landscape, which really captures what we want to do.
It would be our tiny playground with ambitions to try new things and inviting new developers to experiment with us.
Alchemy on NFTs.
Novel approach, obsoleting RMRK
Back to tough thinking. We have in pocket few more innovation we would like to use in RMRK but we feel don't want to contribute to the RMRK as it's purely owned by tight circle -- RMRK team.
We are thinking we probably make a fork of RMRK, probably kRMRK and go from there, offer people room to grow.
From there, we will help Bruno fulfill his desires as marked us non-complaint however we are. But that's his perspective. Even rmrk's tools are not finished we could say. The whole RMRK was meant to be obsolete later in the day. So we are turning away from RMRK.
What we've learned that we hacked a superior interface for artists, a growing specific community moat that could not be copied, however, we found a few of our snippets (without credits) here and there in other codebases.
Briefly attaching our vision, we have plenty of issues in our repository to work on, we are inviting developers to chat with us, make PR, probably become an inner circle of lab masters, innovation and novelist to NFT standards.
Roadmap
A lot of community members asking us about the roadmap.
Well, it's fairly easy, we plan to set up metaprime.network (we have rooms of engaged stewards who are keen to help us)
We should set up discord, which is happening and we will announce links somewhere on socials.
From there, the steps are pretty simple.
How we will get there
We will offer artists the option to migrate off from Kusama with their pieces to metaprime.network.
What features you could expect to have there if you are an artist and reading this?
Briefly drafting, we have chatted with teams who are working on various auction mechanisms. So finally you could have the option of who can buy your NFT to preserve ownership history by your needs.
From there we are happy to introduce vesting/lockup periods for NFTs.
The biggest one would be native NFT chain logic to manipulate. Because now NFT is just a random string in transactions and the frontend needs to obey at the same time to showing stuff to avoid double-spend stuff.
Best of all would be having #219 unlockable content. So you can mint NFT and owners of your fractions could gain access to some stuff.
I guess, most appreciate feature which other platforms already have and we could not have it yet, are royalties. so yes, we will have Royalties finally.
Probably that's it, there is more to come, we have networked notes here and happy to share with community once specific events occur
