marker.png is not found

After a fresh install, the default marker icon is not shown and a white rectangle is shown in its stead.

Logs show the the following
[ERROR ] [Image ] Error reading file /home/vao_python_kivy/kivy_venv/lib/python3.6/site-packages/kivy_garden/mapview/icons/marker.png

Happened on fresh install on 10th Nov 2020
Linux Ubuntu 18.04
Kivy v1.11.1
Python v3.6.9

I second that even on windows the folder and the image are missing. I have created the folder then downloaded the marker image and placed it inside. Now everything works fine.
