What would be recommended solution for syntax coloring with Visual Studio?

I found this deprecated extension for VSCode https://github.com/artagnon/vsfstar
I am not familiar with VSC extensions, but could syntax coloring rules be ported over to VS somehow?

Related to this - are there any info on possible continuation of this extension?

I was suggested to manually open C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\2022\Community\Common7\IDE\CommonExtensions\Microsoft\TextMate\Starterkit\Extensions\fsharp\syntaxes\fsharp.json and change filetypes to include fst that enable colorization in VS. Would almost works :)

Note. regarding VSCore, I have fork of that extension and eventually want to fix crashes and make it pleasant

So far I did not notice any problems with the VSC extension. On the other hand, I have not been using it extensively either
