Problem

With markdown you define static pages in the web app
With contentTypes you can route such media item to a specific (custom) screen.
But we can't configure media ids into the menu bar. This requires customization, not configuration of the common use case

Scope

Support for multiple menu bars (main, footer, etc), also in the app config
Support for mediaids in the menu bar
Support for hrefs in the menubar
Support for breaks/spacers in the menu bar
