Darkness goes in and lightness comes out

This is the Wiki for the BPNVG open-source project to connect and share ideas.

We are working on several different versions of the Bootleg Night Vision concept and we are continuously looking to improve the project.

Intruduction

From experience we know that there is a lot of confusion about the catagorization of night vision implementation technologies. That's why we created an overview that will help identifiying devices.

If you take part in the development or dicussion, please make sure to use accurate and correct terminology to avoid communication errors.

If you are interested in the current status of our work, you are welcome to look up our projects and track our progress. We are also always happy for new like minded people who are able to help us in the development process.

Design Rules and design philosophy

To make sure a certain standard of design and manufacturing quality can be maintained, please make sure to stick to this list of rules to account for when taking part in the development.

  • only use commercially available hardware and open-source software around the world
  • use DIN/ISO standards whenever possible
  • use components with datasheets whenever possible (i.e. electronics)
  • account for manufacturing tolorances and fitting dimensions (i.e. fitted parts, THREAD INSERTS!!!!)
  • design for 3D-printing manufacturing primarily
  • document your work
