I think composite-video-simulator will be suitable as avisynth or avisynth+ plugin since avisynth+ now work in linux

I would say the same but for VapourSynth, given VapourSynth can handle mixed-international filenames (avisynth AFAIR isn’t Unicode-aware).

I don't think it's important thing in video editing but if your system work with Unicode then avisynth will also work with it (I think it's still beta in win10) https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1909790#post1909790
also plugin can made to be work on both no problem
aside from audio in avisynth is better supported, which this simulator can be use
