I'm trying to find a mode for my inverter that prevents the house batteries from discharging when I'm charging an EV during the day.
As an aside, I'm looking to get an EV charger (Zappi 2), which is capable of throttling charge rates dependant on the amount of solar electricity being exported (it enables itself when export is above 1.4kW. It would also assume that if we're exporting at this rate, the battery is full).
Reading various forums it looks like different inverters (or perhaps data loggers) present different modes to the user. It seems unclear.
The modes that I have available are called "Grid first", "Batt first", "Load first".
I use "Batt First" to charge the Batteries from the grid during a cheaper import period.
The setting for Discharge Rate Power can only be set as low as 10%, presumably to protect the system from sudden drops in solar output?
Control of each mode appears to be dependant on the time schedule, rather than a standard multi-option selector.
Anyone able to offer some advice / thoughts on how I might be able to achieve what I'm looking for?
