Error message while loading articles #730
Comments
Is it possible that it's because Reuters made changes to those articles, and the URL cached in Capy isn't up to date anymore?
Like for this one, the URL ends with 2025-01-16, even though the article's publishing date is allegedly 2025-01-15. You can see that they made an edit just hours ago tho, which could explain why the URL got updated to 2025-01-16. Just a theory. |
Just now getting time to look at this. @HarriBuh Can you share the Feed URL you're using for Reuters? I haven't been able to find a link using reuters.com or reuters.com/technology. |
@jocmp That's because there is none. I used https://rss-bridge.org/bridge01/ to build a feed URL: Btw: I have been able to access both new and read articles without any error messages since then. Looks like a one time thing. |
I just tested adding one of Reuter's official feeds to Capy, and I'm having the error referred by @HarriBuh when I load the full content. Like with this one: |
I think Reuters is blocking Capy Reader based on its user-agent. To test I swapped out Capy's user-agent with Reeder's which is like Unfortunately there isn't a straightforward fix within the app besides misreporting the UA which could end up blocking Capy again. Luckily, it looks like the rss-bridge RSS feed pulls the full articles (sample). |
Happens with 100% of any loaded articles since the latest update.
It says "Loading of article failed."
Most of the articles seem to get fully loaded anyway, though.
Version 2025.01.1095
Correction: This will only happen with articles from Reuters, such as
https://www.reuters.com/technology/us-weighs-options-keep-tiktok-operational-ban-nears-nbc-reports-2025-01-16/
Reuters is going to drastically limit free access to their articles either already or in the near future, they have already told every registered user like me. So this might be the beginning of the end or just some unrelated issues.
