ASM = Adaptive Stimulus Model

A very simple model about halfway between stateless and stateful, but that does
not have any memory. If you can get close to memory-based performance with this
controller, then that would be a huge plus when it came time to do MC-based
analysis/task allocation.

From DRTM manuscript draft (cited in there, actual papers elsewhere).
