Ludum Dare 55: Summoning

Concept

  • Turn based strategy/puzzle game.
  • Units have a distance they can move each turn.
  • All active units play each turn.
  • Turns automatically progress after the last unit has acted.
  • Player move units, they automatically engage in combat.
  • Summoning circle requires any unit to be activated. They are used for different actions.
  • Some actions may require more than one circle. This is the usual case for the level exit.

Unit types

  • Archer: shoots arrow.

Unit states

  • Active: can move and attack.
  • Dormant: must be summoned with summoning circles.

Object types

  • Summoning circle.
  • Door.

Summoning circle actions

  • Closing/opening doors.
  • Spawning new units.
  • Trigger level win.
