Here are two things the server could potentially do if it paid attention to the content of the audio it was receiving:
Notice when someone is miscalibrated. If you see someone always very slightly ahead or behind the beat by the same amount, they are probably not calibrated correctly, and you could either automatically fix this or surface it somehow.
Notice when someone is not making good music. Like the former, but not off by a consistent amount. Or it could notice if someone is not in tune. These could feed into the soundboard. It could directly turn people up and down, or it could give advice to the person running sound.
