EAP 7.3.x.CP will be delivered with XP 1.x but with release of MP 4.0 (planned in summer 2020) there will be XP 2.x which will co-exist with XP 1.x for some time and incompatible with XP 2.x. Thus it's not possible to have 7.3.x branch.
Suggestion is to branch MP TS by XP versions like:
7.3-xp-1.x and 7.3-xp-2.x
7.4-xp-2.x and so on
Another approach might be to use profiles to distinguish which XP is tested and have 7.3.x or 7.4.x branch. Each profile would trigger given set of tests based on JUnit category or annotation.
