Hello,

First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for creating Ema Personal Wiki. I’ve used this tool for many years both personally and at work and deeply appreciate the flexibility and utility it provides.

However, as this repository has not received updates for a while, I am considering migrating to Obsidian for my personal wiki needs. Obsidian offers many modern features and an active community that I believe aligns with my future requirements.

To ease this transition, I’m willing to create a migration tool that converts Ema Personal Wiki data to an Obsidian-compatible format. This could include:
• Converting WikiWord links into Obsidian-style Markdown links.
• Preserving file structures, page content, and metadata.

If there’s sufficient interest or demand from the community, I’d be happy to work on this and share the tool with everyone.

Please reply if:
1. You’re interested in using a migration tool.
2. You have suggestions, questions, or additional requirements for such a tool.

Thank you for your time and consideration!

I’d also like to ensure I have the blessing of the original creator @janwillemb before helping users transition away from his tool.

Best regards,
Yechiel

Consider yourself blessed.
I migrated my most important stakeholder (aka my wife) to Joplin some time ago. I can't discontinue the app in the store, otherwise I would have and told people to migrate to Joplin. Obsidian looks nice too.

Thank you for your comments and for introducing me to Joplin. It seems both software are intended for the same purpose
Joplin

Easier learning curve
Built in formatting toolbar
Is open source

Obsidian

Is much more customisable
Has a much larger plug-in store
Has the graph style UI for knowledge management

Have you got a script or tool to migrate to Joplin because I'm happy to conceive as I have struggled with the obsidian learning curve.
Also do you already have a script and if not do you have data to share That shows which is the most popular platform (I believe the original was Windows best) for Windows I would probably use PowerShell.
