valac-0.16 compilation failure #40
Comments
Try cherry-picking commits 9b6b701 and b5735d0 from my fork, they should be able to apply to the orignal code. Note that the second one may introduce a small memory leak, I am not completely sure of how the API changed. Note that this does not solve the compilation problem with poppler >= 0.17, see Issue #35. |
I'm still at 2.0 for the Debian package, and they won't apply cleanly so far back. Hoping for a new upstream release though: Debian is freezing very soon. Should I take your 3.0 as the "upstream" release? I have not been following who-is-who in this package, but I note that to root repo, jakobwesthoff/, has been inactive for a while... |
jakobwesthoff should have the last word here as to updating the main branch. If you decide to take my fork, then you should change the name as to avoid confusion (and please tell me and I will push forward the release of 3.1 with some improvements). |
I tried to compile pdf-presenter-console using valac-0.16, which is the standard for the upcoming Debian release, but no luck. Had to drop back to valac-0.14. Would be nice to be able to use the latest-and-greatest valac.
